Chimney Swifts are common summer residents of the United States. During the breeding season, they commonly nest and roost in chimneys. Occasionally their nests or offspring may fall into the fireplace or an adult my enter the house.

NEST FALLEN INTO HOUSE:

• Place the babies back in the nest. Do the best you can to secure the nest back in the chimney over the damper of the fireplace. Click here for detailed description with a diagram of the three different options for re-nesting 

• Place a towel or other soft "landing pad" in the base of the fireplace in case the babies fall in again.
